The main reason for exploring, besides EXP and gear, is to try and find Side Mission Orbs. Sometimes those side-paths will lead to powerful enemies like Tonberries, who also drop good gear. There are several reasons for this most levels have side-paths you can head down that often end with chests containing better gear. Though you truly can just beeline through most missions, even skipping fights if you’re some sort of sadist who doesn’t think they’ll need EXP for later in the game, you should seriously consider taking the time to explore every nook and cranny of each level. It’s unknown if this is intentional or not, but players who own a Physical Copy of the game can always install it without updates to benefit from this potential bug. Note that one of the CHAOS Difficulty Trophies requires you to “Complete the Game on CHAOS Difficulty.” At the time of writing, this trophy unlocks when you complete any Mission on CHAOS Difficulty. You can then kill some of the weaker enemies to farm Level 200 Gear and equip that to have a head start on the lower Mission Level Missions. You’re free to complete your first playthrough on Story Difficulty if you’d like an easy ride, but you’ll likely be unprepared for how difficult CHAOS Difficulty is if you do this.Īn excellent way to get ahead in CHAOS Difficulty is to farm Anima Crystals and then use them to buy a Mission Level 200 Mission. To unlock CHAOS Difficulty, you first need to beat the game on any difficulty. There are two trophies in this game that require you to play the game on CHAOS Difficulty.
