Before joining Stimson, he was the Director of Foresight at the Atlantic Council. In 2013 he retired from a 28-year-long career in the State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency, the last 10 years of which he spent at the National Intelligence Council as the principle author of their Global Trends Series. Mat Burrows is one of the leading experts on strategic foresight and global trend analysis and has spent a life in public service. Together, they are launching a new Strategic Foresight Hub designed to inform decision-makers about global trends, analyze future risks and opportunities, and actively find convergence and resolution to international differences and disputes.
